In a significant move aimed at bolstering efforts to combat hunger and poverty in Nigeria, Baron Jay Littleton Jr., President of the Baron Jay Foundation, has nominated Dr. Bright Enabulele, the Founder of Oduwa Global, for Nigeria’s prestigious national award, Office of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR).
During a media parley, Littleton Jr noted that the OFR and other national awards can serve as powerful catalysts for change, inspiring individuals like Enabulele to deepen their commitment to their communities and country.
According to him, the national award recognition would not only honour their contributions but also fuels their passion for making a lasting impact, encouraging others to join in the effort to address critical social issues.
For years, the Baron Jay Foundation has partnered with Oduwa Global, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organisation, to address pressing issues faced by vulnerable communities in Nigeria.
With the ongoing challenges of hunger and poverty, Littleton Jr. believes that collaborative efforts are essential for meaningful change.
“If the Nigerian Government accepts this nomination,” Littleton Jr. stated, “it will pave the way for even greater collaboration between Oduwa Global and my foundation. Together, we can create impactful solutions to address the critical needs of the people. Nation-building is not solely the responsibility of the government; it requires the active participation and commitment of the entire community. It is about empowering people and working hand-in-hand to uplift our society.“
Littleton Jr.’s vision includes making regular visits to Nigeria to further support Oduwa Global’s works, reinforcing the notion that collective action is vital in the fight against hunger and poverty.
As the nomination progresses, both Littleton Jr. and Enabulele are hopeful that this recognition will inspire greater investment in community-driven initiatives across Nigeria.
