Bishop Sam Owusu, the Senior Pastor of the Pottersville church, East Legon Hills, Accra, Ghana, has lamented the preference for his Nigerian counterparts in the country.
Owusu, a Ghanaian cleric, was captured in a video that has since gone viral, sharing concerns about Ghanaians labeling their pastors as fake but supporting the ministries of Nigerian pastors.
The Pottersville pastor’s criticism of Ghanaians, whom he lamented preferred Nigerian pastors, came barely a few days after Pastor Jerry Eze attracted more than 60,000 worshippers for a spiritual conference.
Fintech Telex gathered that the conference attracted a lot of buzz, such that Owusu felt it’s a preference for Nigerian pastors.
“Sometimes I am very surprised about Ghanaians, how hypocritical we are.
“We don’t respect our own and we don’t honour our own and we don’t love our own. We celebrate foreigners more than our own.
“But there is no foreigner that will celebrate Ghanaian. Look at how Ghana members and Ghanaian Christians follow Nigerian pastors and respect Nigerian men of God more than even Ghanaian pastors.
“That’s why we kill all our prophets. That’s why we kill all our men of God. As if we don’t have an anointed man of God in this country
“Every prophet in Ghana is considered fake. Every anointed man of God is considered fake,” Owusu stated during one of his sermons, where he expressed that no cleric in the country would have been able to pull such a crowd because of Ghanaian’s preference for Nigerian pastors.
Talking about Eze’s program, Owusu recalled that “just last week, one of the young men in Nigeria came to do a prayer conference here and over 50,000 people were there praying, Ghanaians o!
“But let me tell you, do you know there is no Ghanaian Pastor that will go to Nigeria to have that crowd? Not even 10%?
“Nigerians will never, that’s why there is no bigger Ghanaian Church in Nigeria. Nigerians respect and love their own. You go to the Jerry Eze programme, you are sponsoring a Nigerian at the detriment of your own prophet in Ghana.
“I don’t hate him. I love the man. I love the young man. He came to Ghana and pulled over 100,000 people and took offerings and seeds to his country and I even saw the Electoral commissioner who was the one who went to receive him from the airport.”

“Ghana has great men of God, he should be reminded of the spiritual prowess of great men of God like Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams from Ghana 🇬🇭. Man of God, stop the jealousy and focus on bringing souls to God which should be the goal.” – @petinyabri wrote.

“What is this from a so-called Bishop Owusu🤦🏾♂️? This is stupid hatred and jealousy which should not be found in the house of God Almighty. Yet, he concluded his vile speech with “may God have mercy on us all” …LMAO!
Anyway, Christ knows His own sheep & the Shepherd is coming soon.” – @irebamisoyinka.
