Abuja, Nigeria — Businessman, technology entrepreneur, and political figure, Bright Enabulele, has officially resigned from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as he prepares to forge a new political path ahead of his anticipated Edo South Senatorial ambition under the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
The resignation, which officially took effect on May 5, 2026, follows what Enabulele described as deep reflection on internal party affairs and differences in political values, vision, and direction regarding the future of Edo State and the people of Edo South.
Speaking to supporters and political associates, Bright Enabulele stated that while the PDP will always remain part of his political history, the time has come to align with a platform that better reflects his commitment to innovation, grassroots development, youth empowerment, economic transformation, and transparent leadership.
“The NDC represents a fresh movement and a people-driven platform focused on real change, accountability, and development. Many of my supporters, followers, and political allies have agreed to join this new path as we work together to deliver true representation and progress for the great people of Edo South,” he stated.
Enabulele, widely known for his work in technology and digital innovation, including initiatives such as WakaMap and OduwaCoin, is expected to bring a strong grassroots and technology-driven campaign strategy into the evolving political landscape ahead of the elections.
Political observers believe his movement to the NDC could reshape political conversations within Edo South, especially among young voters, entrepreneurs, and the growing digital community seeking alternative leadership voices.
Further announcements regarding consultations, mobilization structures, and official campaign activities are expected in the coming weeks.
